Class requirements MUST be met by each student, no
exceptions. Scuba diving is a performance-based activity.
Students will not receive their certification unless ALL
requirements are met. Any additional training that may be
necessary can be arranged for an additional fee.

Specialty activities introduce certified divers to a whole new world of diving
opportunities. Learning is easy! You can purchase SSI Specialty manuals and
videos from Divetech, your SSI Authorized Dealer, then enroll in a specialty course to
complete the requirements to earn your specialty course card under the guidance
of an SSI Advanced Instructor. Private classes for individuals and groups are
also offered by Divetech. Please contact us for availability and pricing.
As an SSI authorized Training Facility, Divetech
offers a variety of SSI Specialty courses that give purpose, add challenge and
open up new areas of interest in diving. The table below lists the specialty

Diver Stress & Rescue
Course Fee $150 plus Books and Equipment
Diver Stress & Rescue is the next course recommended
after Open Water Diver, because it helps you gain confidence and makes you a
better dive buddy. The Diver Stress & Rescue course requires one classroom
session held on Wednesday evening from 6-10pm plus one pool session on Friday of
the same week from 6-9pm. Private classes for individuals and groups are also

Enriched Air Nitrox
Course Fee $150 plus Book
Ever wished for more time to take pictures or
explore a wreck? Nitrox offers the opportunity for longer, no-decompression
limit dives. In this course you will learn all the necessary rules for diving
with Nitrox. The Enriched Air Nitrox course requires one classroom session held
on one evening from 6-10pm. Private classes for individuals and groups are
also offered by Divetech. Please contact us for availability and pricing.

Any of the specialty classes offered by Divetech are
available to the diver on request. Increase your knowledge, enhance your skills
and learn how to use an expanded range of equipment. You will become a more
comfortable and confident diver, making your dives more enjoyable and

Advanced Class with 4 Specialties
Course Fee based on Chosen Specialties, plus Books and Equipment
The Advanced Class caters to the diver's
preferences. It consists of four SSI specialties chosen by the diver. From the
list above, choose four specialties of interest to you and open up limitless
opportunities for adventure! Private classes for individuals and groups are also offered
by Divetech. Please contact us for availability and pricing.
SSI Continuing Education Ratings:
As you take specialty courses, you can combine them
with logged dives to earn special rewards and recognition in the SSI Education
System. To earn SSI Continuing Education Ratings, you must meet two
requirements: 1) Training - Specialty Courses and 2) Experience - Logged Dives.
Every SSI Specialty Course qualifies for Continuing Education Ratings. The
experience requirement makes you a comfortable, advanced diver by putting your
skills to use in the real world. The three SSI Continuing Education Ratings and
their requirements are:
