| Edward
Luedtke, SSI DCSI (Dive Control Specialist Instructor) |
Edward describes himself as a 'people
person,' and those who know him will tell you that that
is quite an understatement! Ed literally grew up with
Divetech: he started doing odd jobs around the shop at
the age of 14, and was certified as a Dive Master and
Dive Instructor before his 19th birthday. Shortly after
that, he was leading dive trips for Dolphin Travel. With
over 20 years in the business, he's developed a rapport
with resorts and dive operators that really enhances his
customers' vacation experience. One of the things Ed
says he really values about diving is the bond that it
creates. His clients come from all walks of life and
circumstances, but the scuba diving experience provides
a common ground that binds them all together. Edward
is a member of the Divetech - SSI Total Dive
Training Team. Ed is certified to teach a wide range of
Specialty classes in addition to Open Water Diver,
Advanced Open Water Diver, Master Diver and Dive Control
Specialist certifications.
Interesting facts about Ed:
He's fluent in Spanish, thanks to having lived in Mexico
for several years as a child. This is an especially
useful skill when leading dive trips to Mexico and
Central America. Edward met his wife, Cathy, on a scuba
diving trip! On his own vacations, Ed likes to fish,
play golf, and yes, scuba dive! |

| Justin
Barlow, SSI DCSI |
| Justin says he was first introduced
to scuba diving in Puerto Vallarta in 2000 by 'some
random guy letting people try SCUBA' in a 4-foot pool!
He went on to get his OWD certification in 2003 where he
did his open water dives at Clear Springs Scuba Park in
Terrell, Texas. Justin became associated with Divetech
in 2007 when he stopped diving commercially and began
training as a Dive Control Specialist on his way to
becoming an instructor. He earned the SSI DCSI
certification in 2007. Justin really enjoys teaching the
EAN and the Stress & Rescue specialty courses. His
favorite dive destinations are Fiji for the beautiful
scenery, great diving, oh! and...the BIG sharks! He
enjoys Cozumel because it is so close and easy; and the
Gulf of Mexico because 'you wouldn't believe how much
fish life there is out on the oil rigs...you never know
what you might see!' Justin is a member of the Divetech
- SSI Total Dive Training Team, and is certified to
teach a wide range of Specialty classes in addition to
Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Master

she belonged in the underwater environment. Amy became
OWD certified in October 2005 when she became associated

| Bob
Karlin, SSI DCSI |
| Bob's first experience with scuba
diving occurred around 11 years of age while on a family
vacation in Florida. He and his brother went to the pool
one morning and found someone willing to give diving
instruction. Bob was hooked! He dove occasionally until
having a "C" card became pretty much mandatory. In 1988,
Bob took the Open Water Diver course and officially
became a certified diver. By the time that course was
completed and he was ready to move on to Advanced
training, Bob's instructor had become affiliated with
Divetech. Since the summer of 1988, Bob has been
learning and teaching through Divetch. He received his
